Election of President-Elect Trump Halts Legalization of 4 Million Illegals

The Left will never admit this, but the election of Trump got Obama to drop his case to legalize 4 millions illegals in the United States.

The media reports the story like Obama is being magnanimous to the new president-elect, but that’s not the case.

“Accordingly, the parties respectfully submit that further proceedings on the merits of this case, including the submission of a schedule for resolving the merits, should be stayed until February 20, 2017,” the Justice Department and lawyers for Texas said in a joint request of Judge Andrew S. Hanen.

Judge Hanen had halted Mr. Obama’s expanded amnesty in February 2015, just two days before it was to go into effect, ruling that the administration broke administrative law. An appeals court twice upheld his injunction, as did the Supreme Court, in a 4-4 deadlock decision this summer.

Imagine what would have happened with this case had Hillary Clinton won? Anybody think Obama would have stayed the case until she took office?

Conservatives can now see how important the Trump win was.

The amnesty would apply to more than 4 million illegal immigrants who were either brought to the U.S. as children, or who were parents of American citizens or legal immigrants.

Under the Obama program, they were to be granted tentative legal status for three years, preventing them from being deported and entitling them to work permits, which would in turn earn them driver’s licenses and some taxpayer benefits.

Sadly, millions of dollars of taxpayer money continues to be spent on illegals. In a speech in Arizona during the presidential campaign, Donald Trump stated:

“Illegal immigration costs our country more than $113 billion a year. And this is what we get,” Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, said. “For the money we are going to spend on illegal immigration over the next 10 years, we could provide 1 million at-risk students with a school voucher, which so many people are wanting.”

Liberals dispute the numbers, but here is what The Heritage Foundation calculated.

The Heritage Foundation report found that in 2010, there were about 3.44 million households headed by undocumented immigrants and on average, each household received about $24,721 in government benefits and services, such as public education, police and fire protection.

This is roughly $85 billion.

Take your pick, since both figures are staggering.

Another $100 million has been spent by Obama moving the children of illegals all over the country or back to their home countries.

Government figures obtained by the Immigration Reform Law Institute through an open records request show Immigration and Customs Enforcement spent an average of $665 per juvenile in 2014, with most of that going to the cost of airplane flights to shuttle the children among government agencies, to relatives here in the U.S. or back to their home countries — if they’re deported.

At that rate, ICE will spend about $4.5 million flying just the children nabbed at the border in October, and somewhere north of $100 million since the surge began in earnest in 2014.

American taxpayers should not foot the bill for this any longer.
