Media Demands Trump Check With Them First

trump-newsThe media continue to spin out of control and America benefits from their madness.

I’m not sure how much money Trump earns the media, but the bottom line must be a love-hate relationship.

On one hand, Trump manufactures news. He’s a one-man news cycle. I took a screenshot from this morning, and Trump news made the Top 10. That’s routine, except today he was at the bottom of the list. You can bet that by day’s end, he will have moved up.

The topics?

  • Tweeters Mock Trump’s Christmas message
  • Gingrich: Trump’s Twitter Foreign Policy Is Brilliant; I agree
  • Trump faces challenges shutting down his charitable foundation
  • Etc.

And each of these stories could easily take on a life of their own. Moreover, with one tweet or statement, Trump could add more fuel to the news cycle.

Barack Obama appeared nowhere in the media. Trump pushed the Left’s version of Jesus off the front page.

Put simply: Trump bothers the media in that he IS the media.

Not only does Trump represents his own media outlet, his brand is bigger than ever. So why bother with “protocol?”

NEW YORK TIMES […]  Mr. Trump’s unconventional, sometimes hostile, relationship with the news media and his penchant for communicating through unfiltered Twitter posts threaten to upend a decades-old Washington tradition that relies almost entirely on protocol. The result, reporters and editors say, could be a loss of transparency that would hinder the press’s role as a conduit for information to the people.

trump-media-1God forbid Trump hinder the role of the press. They haven’t done a good enough job doing that themselves?

Trump has reinvented media, as the article goes on to explain.

But Mr. Trump’s advisers, and even some former White House press secretaries, say that some of the conventions of White House coverage are outdated and due for a face-lift. (more)

The media wasn’t due a facelift. The media was due a divorce, a complete trade for a young prettier media. Trump Media!

As Investor’s Business Daily pointed out,

Even before Election Day, many asserted that Trump faced an unfair amount of negative press, as the media published story after story painting him as a racist, xenophobe and just about every other horrible name in the book. Case in point, throughout the campaign, the Huffington Post published the following editor’s note at the end of stories about Mr. Trump:

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

The article continued,

Also, back in October, Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly reported that at least three media organizations had “ordered their employees to destroy Donald Trump.”

Leftist Geraldo Rivera had this to say about media bias against Trump:

“When I see Donald Trump I think he wakes up every day knowing that 20 of the best investigative reporters in the country working for The Washington Post are assigned to find dirt on him every day. Every day the best investigative reporters at The New York Times are assigned to find dirt on Donald Trump.”

If perennial Leftist Geraldo recognizes it, then you know the proof is glaring.

I recall many people saying to me, “I wish Trump would stop tweeting.” That would have been like asking JFK to stop appearing on television.

Trump uses the media of our time. And social media represents the new reality of media. Without it, Trump doesn’t get elected.

Moreover, without social media, Trump would be unable to keep the “fake news” media at least partially honest. How does he accomplish this?

Trump Media strikes first. The lamestream media is not used to being second. They are used to manufacturing the news, not others. To create narratives in cahoots with their Leftist partners, the Democrats, made their jobs that much simpler.

Slave days are over, media.

I’m anxious to see how this monumental shift forces the media heavyweights to return to reporting the news and not crafting it. Regardless, we can thank Trump for putting the media in the spotlight. They needed this wake up call decades ago.
