New California Governor Challenges Trump

California leaders are like cockroaches. Squash one, and fifty more come running.

Jerry Brown’s replacement wasted no time declaring California will continue to be a sanctuary for all.

It’s no wonder people are leaving California in droves.

Gavin Newsom wasted no time throwing down the gauntlet at President Trump. I think it’s time to start taking bets. Either California will continue to unravel, or Newsome will be a one-term wonder. Most conservatives are hoping for the latter.

Newsom is right about one thing: everything is riding on what happens next.

CBSLA elaborates:

“People’s lives, freedom, security, the water we drink, the air we breathe — they all hang in the balance,” Newsom, 51, told a crowd of hundreds packed into a tent outside the state Capitol.

He says children should not be “ripped away from their parents” at the border, and they also shouldn’t be left hungry while Trump pledges to spend billions of dollars on “a wall that should never be built.”

Reporters were quick to notice that Newsom avoided using Trump’s name directly. Perhaps that was his only smart move of the day. Still, he had the nerve to call the administration incompetent. Further, he called the swamp-drainer corrupt!

The true challenge came when Newsom promised California will “write America’s future.”

Let’s hope not. So far, California sits idly by while Americans are murdered by illegal immigrants. We don’t even have to touch the fact that they misspent federal funds to prevent one of the most devastating wildfires to date because their immigration policies alone prove we’d be better off if California mysteriously fell into the ocean.

As we all know, Kate’s Law was authored by Texas Senator Ted Cruz in response to the murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco. She was walking along Pier 14 with her father when José Inez García Zárate killed her. Not only was this man deported more than once, but California acquitted him. If this were an isolated incident, perhaps we could move past it. But it’s not some off the wall miscarriage of justice. It’s a pattern!

Blast from the Past

Pedro Figueroa-Zarceno came here illegally. Then, authorities turned him over to ICE. Yet, the law-breaker successfully sued the city of San Francisco for violating their own policies. Apparently, their city laws dictate ignoring federal mandates.

We brought you the story more than a year ago, and still it does quite make sense.

In short, this guy was set to be deported years ago, but he managed to hide under a rock until his car was stolen. And now, we’re supposed to feel sorry for him? Worse, taxpayers are expected to hand him $190,000.

What Obama Left Behind

Week after week we report rapes, murders, and other heinous crimes pulled off by illegal immigrants.

Recall Tommy Alvarado-Ventura. He beat and sexually assaulted a two-year-old girl after stabbing her mother. Ventura was part of Obama’s “catch and release” program. He should have been deported multiple times. Instead, Ventura was freed on our streets.

Obama freed another illegal who murdered his 15-year-old teenage step-daughter and her unborn child. The list could go on endlessly. But sadly, California doesn’t see a need for change.

Instead, liberals sweep this crime under the rug as if it’s not a problem. They go on with their pansy policies, such as sanctuary cities, which only make things worse.

Now, California’s new governor vows more of the same while pretending to give a crap. Any person with common sense won’t believe Newsom for second, even when he offers up some fake compassion like this:

“I recognize that many in our rural communities believe that Sacramento doesn’t care about them — doesn’t even really see them,” he said. “I see you.”

The sarcasm is thicker than the California smog. He went on to say: “I care about you. And I will represent you with pride.”

To which I offer this response: represent all you can, because it won’t be long before Trump squashes you like the cockroach you are.

In fact, Newsom reminds me of an old children’s song we used to sing at Girl Scout Camp. It went something like this: second verse, same as the first. A little bit louder and a little bit worse.

That seems to put California’s highest office in a nutshell.
