Trump Gets Another Win Against Obamacare

Trump gets another win against Obamacare. But the news got sucked into the vortex of Trump’s other win with the Mueller Report.

Nevertheless, Obamacare got another nail in the coffin, even if only temporary.

According to The Hill,

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

The move is an escalation of the Trump administration’s legal battle against the health care law.

The DOJ previously argued in court that the law’s pre-existing condition protections should be struck down. Now, the administration argues the entire law should be invalidated.

U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor ruled in December that the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate is unconstitutional and that the rest of law is therefore invalid.

The DOJ said Monday that it agrees the decision should stand as the case works its way through the appeals process in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

“The Department of Justice has determined that the district court’s judgment should be affirmed,” the department said in a short letter to the appeals court.

The move is certain to prompt new denunciations from Democrats, who had already seized on the Trump administration’s earlier call for the pre-existing condition protections to be struck down.

While The Hill reports this as if President Trump is against covering pre-existing conditions, that’s not the case.

Here’s how CBS explained it on their site.

President Trump says the new health care bill promises coverage for Americans with pre-existing conditions. “We have a specific clause that guarantees,” Trump tells CBS News’ John Dickerson.

And if there is anybody who keeps his promises, it’s President Trump. Nevertheless, Democrats and their media minions continue to promote the lie that Trump’s plan eliminates coverage for pre-existing conditions.

The LA Times reported:

During an interview with “Face the Nation” on CBS aired Sunday, President Trump said a revised bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act has a “clause that guarantees” that people with pre-existing conditions will be covered.

Trump said: “Pre-existing conditions are in the bill. And I just watched another network than yours, and they were saying, `Pre-existing is not covered.’ Pre-existing conditions are in the bill. And I mandate it. I said, ‘Has to be.'”

Rosie O’Donnell wasn’t impressed.

And other leftists are still stuck on the Mueller report.

But Trump is undaunted by their idiotic criticisms.

The process of riding America of ObamaCare might be slower than Trump expected, but make no mistake. He will get the job done.
