Barr Rebrands Comey from National Hero to Dirty Spy

Exactly two years ago, Trump canned James Comey for his poor handling of Hillary Clinton and her email scandal.

Somehow, Comey used his termination to morph into a rising star among Trump-haters.

Now, Attorney General William Barr stepped up to investigate the Trump witch hunt. And Comey stands to lose more than just a job.  His reputation is on the line.

As Fox News explains:

In the two years since President Trump fired James Comey, the former director of the FBI has gone from the left’s folk hero – rewarded with a book deal for his supposed selfless public service – to someone at the epicenter of an FBI “spying” scandal that threatens to tarnish the bureau’s reputation.

Following Comey’s ouster, his former boss Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel of the Russia investigation, which went on to find no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia — and could not reach a conclusion on whether to charge Trump with obstruction of justice.

Initially, Comey enjoyed relative success after losing his job, getting showered with media attention for his anti-Trump talking points. This propped up his book — “A Higher Loyalty,” published last year — for which Comey reportedly received $2 million. It posted sales of 600,000 copies in just one week.

But Comey’s star has undoubtedly faded amid allegations that the FBI under his command not only used an unverified dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele to justify surveillance of Trump campaign official Carter Page, but also that the bureau sent an undercover investigator to meet with ex-Trump aide George Papadopoulos in 2016.

Attorney General Bill Barr alleged, in the wake of the Mueller report, that the bureau engaged in spying against Trump associates during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“I think spying did occur,” Barr said during a hearing on Capitol Hill last month. “The question is whether it was adequately predicated. … Spying on a political campaign is a big deal.”

Comey’s Defense

I keep wondering if there’s going to be a moment when Comey throws his hands up and says, “yeah, you caught me.” It’s hard to imagine any normal person working so hard to hold up a lie. But that’s what Comey continues to do. He travels from talk show to talk show defending his actions. It’s quite bizarre.

Just last week, Th New York Times revealed the name of a Trump spy, even though it’s not likely a real name.

Kevin Jackson weighed in on Turk:

I tried to locate Azra Turk, but found nothing. Something tells me nobody by that name really exists at the FBI. This very real person is now on vacation somewhere, waiting for a real investigative journalist to determine her real identity.

In the meantime, the Times continues,

The decision to use Ms. Turk in the operation aimed at a presidential campaign official shows the level of alarm inside the F.B.I. during a frantic period when the bureau was trying to determine the scope of Russia’s attempts to disrupt the 2016 election, but could also give ammunition to Mr. Trump and his allies for their spying claims.

Note how the Times almost justifies the FBI’s spying on Trump.

“…during the frantic period when the bureau was”…[DOING WHAT]?!

When the bureau was SPYING ON TRUMP IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET HIM IMPEACHED?!

They weren’t trying to determine Russia’s attempts to disrupt the 2016 election, so the Times should just drop the cover.

This operation is currently being investigated by Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is looking into wrongdoing by the FBI. And by now, Horowitz knows the FBI in conjunction with many in the Obama administration attempted a COUP!

Still, as the story of Azra Turk broke, Comey held tight to his “what did you expect us to” narrative.

So, what should we expect Comey to do?

For starters, he can drop the charade. It’s about high time Comey puts his cards on the table. He wanted to protect Hillary’s campaign, so he obstructed justice. And because Comey failed to lock Clinton up for her crimes against America, he should soon find himself serving time.

Second, he should donate all proceeds from his lie-filled book to charity. A real charity, not some scam like the Clinton Foundation.

And last, but not least, Comey should make a public apology to Donald Trump. It’s time to move past the witch hunt and get on with the business of Making America Great Again. But until the high-ranking Democrats admit the truth, leftists will continue crying out for impeachment instead of enjoying the fruits of the Trump Administration.

Of course, Comey won’t do any of this on his own. But with Barr’s team ready to investigate the Trump investigation, I’m willing to bet the FBI offers Comey’s head on a platter before they admit to widespread corruption.

Either way, Barr just rebranded Comey. He’s no longer the national hero he pretended to be. He’s just a dirty spy.
