Smollett knows he’s been banished from the A-list, and there’s no coming back from the damage he’s done.
He single-handedly wiped Empire off the airwaves. His fellow cast-members surely top Smollett’s list of haters. But that’s not enough to silence the drama queen.
Smollett is an attention whore at his core, and he refuses to fade quietly into the background where he belongs. Thus, he’s cooked up yet another publicity stunt to keep his name in the headlines.

Jussie Smollett says the $10,000 he was mandated to pay after the criminal case against him was closed should prevent the city of Chicago from seeking reimbursement for the police investigation following his claim, back in January 2019, that he was a victim of a racist and homophobic attack.
Attorneys for the former “Empire” actor filed a response Tuesday to Chicago’s lawsuit in federal court. They also filed a counterclaim against the city, saying Smollett was the victim of a malicious prosecution that caused humiliation and extreme distress.
Malicious Prosecution?
This guy tops the list of stupid criminals. After telling police he was attacked by two masked men yelling “This is MAGA country,” Smollett acts as if he didn’t seek an investigation. Of course he rehearsed his attack. Then he staged his 911 call. Surely, he expected some kind of police response.
Obviously, Smollett wanted his name in the news to get a raise. But he didn’t expect the police to outsmart him. Even his MAGA loving honky attackers turned out to be two black dudes. Thus, he didn’t exactly think this through very well.

In February, police determined that Smollett’s masked assailants were brothers Abel and Ola Osundairo, who trained Smollett and worked with him on “Empire.” Authorities also identified the brothers as those on surveillance video purchasing the rope that was reportedly hung around Jussie’s neck during the alleged attack.
After an intense investigation, police determined Smollett staged the entire episode with the help of two brothers, whom he paid to take part in the hoax assault, in an elaborate effort to drum up publicity for his middling career. After prosecutors dropped the case in March, Smollett maintained his innocence but agreed to let authorities keep a $10,000 bail.
He was charged with filing a false police report, but those charges were dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx a few weeks later.
We all know Foxx botched this ordeal from beginning to end. Suddenly, her office dropped all charges just weeks after Smollett was indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct related to filing a false police report. Both the Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel were blown away by Foxx’s blatant disregard for the city’s interest. Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice,” which is putting it mildly.
Connections
Yet, no amount of backlash prompted Foxx to reconsider her position. Because Smollett’s connections run deep and wide. He’s somehow linked to everyone from Maxine Waters to the Obamas. Thus, Smollett has nothing to apologize for. It’s perfectly acceptable for a leftist to waste $130,000 of tax payer dollars. (Just look at the damages Obama himself dished out.)
Further, Smollett now demands a refund for the $10,000 bail he agreed to forfeit. All because he’s got connections?
According to Smollett, Chicago PD “over-investigated” the events. And his fancy lawyers continue to push that assertion.

Sadly, these lawyers have the audacity to claim Smollett is innocent, despite the fact that the story unraveled publicly. Now, he is widely recognized as a liar. And just in case the court recognizes Smollett’s dishonesty, the lawyers have a laughable reason why their client shouldn’t cough up the $130,000 the city lost.
…the latest court filing contends even if Smollett did make a false report, there is no way the city can assert he would have known the city would investigate — and investigate it to the extent cops did.
“We contend the city is wrong.” Quinlan said of the city’s assertion that Smollett should have known the police would log nearly 2,000 hours in overtime trying to resolve the case. “ … The mere fact somebody filed a police report doesn’t presume the investigation will be done and certainly not to the extent of what the city is claiming.”
He added: “Smollett has no control over that.”
No control? Imagine the fallout had police not investigated? Because they smelled a rat pretty early on.
Smollett’s Future
It’s pathetic when you think about it. Smollett tied up police time and resources, thus impeding other investigations. Meanwhile, all he lost was a job. And they didn’t even admit he was FIRED. That was white-washed too. Smollett faces literally no consequences for his behavior. And since his sorry ass didn’t sit in jail, he now seeks a reward for his poorly acted plot. Talk about a slap in the face!
Maybe Democrats are missing the big picture here. Smollett has all the makings of a left-side presidential candidate.
