Idiot O’Rourke Blames Guns for Texas Shooting

It’s the well known rhetoric of the left. Guns kill people. Get rid of guns, no one gets hurt.

But following Sunday’s tragic shooting at a Texas church, many leftists decided to sit this one out.

Not Beto O’Rourke. He went full frontal on gun control.

Of course, here in Texas we don’t expect him to be anything more than a thoughtless, classless chunk of cow manure. This is the guy who promised to take our guns by force. All the while, laundering money from his campaign, to his wife. Clearly, morals aren’t his forte.

Apparently, Beto didn’t read far enough into the story.

He missed the whole part where an armed guard quickly took the gunman out. Had he failed, at least three other armed men stood ready to back the guard, and one victim is thought to have been reaching for his gun as well.

As the New York Times reports:

A gunman opened fire at a church in Texas on Sunday morning, killing two people with a shotgun before a member of the church’s volunteer security team fatally shot him, the authorities said.

About 250 people were inside the auditorium of the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, near Fort Worth, when the gunman began shooting just before communion, said Jack Cummings, a minister at the church.

Mr. Cummings said the gunman was “acting suspiciously” before the shooting and drew the attention of the church’s security team. The team, he said, has existed for at least 10 years and is made up of members of the church’s congregation who are licensed to carry firearms and practice shooting regularly.

“They saved a lot of lives today,” Mr. Cummings said. “Because this thing would have been a massacre otherwise.”

The shooting lasted a whopping six seconds, and do you know why?

Because this church was smart enough to have ‘marksmen’ in the congregation. And that’s thanks to a bill passed in September allowing licensed gun owners to carry their weapons in places of worship. But according to Beto, Texas has it all wrong.

But Tommy Lahren disagrees. She thinks Texas got it right.

As Fox News tells us:

“That gunman walked into that church to destroy innocent lives. But he was quickly reminded you don’t mess with Texas and you don’t mess with the Second Amendment,” [Lahren] said.

The Dallas Morning News reported that a Texas state law was put into effect following a 2017 shooting at a Sutherland Springs, Texas, church, in which 26 people were killed and 20 more were wounded. The new measure allowed churches, synagogues, and mosques, which previously barred gun-owners, to have armed volunteer security.

“Now the details surrounding the shooter, the motive and the tragedy will continue to emerge in the coming days,” Lahren continued, “But what we do know is this — good guys armed with guns and their Second Amendment rights stood up, stepped up and stopped tragedy before it could get much, much worse.”

“You will never stop evil people by infringing on the rights of good people. Ever!” she argued. “Someone who is in the mindset to take a shotgun into a church, open fire on innocent people as they worship the Lord doesn’t care about decency, human life, the laws on the books, let alone the gun laws that Democrats and anti-gun advocates want to pass.”

“When the rubber hits the road, laws are not going to protect you,” Lahren concluded, “The government is not going to protect you. Politicians sitting in D.C. are not going to protect you. Hold on to your rights because they may save your life.”

Maybe it’s time Beto retire from public life. I’m sure the Cult of the Dead Cow will welcome him back.
