Trump Breaks Tradition for Pro-Life Movement

Leftists define feminism as the right to kill your own baby. As if destroying one’s offspring is an empowering move.

I’ve yet to wrap my head around the concept. In my world, the gift of life is undeniably precious. And it’s comforting to have a president who supports pro-life movement and the rights of our most innocent citizens.

But Trump doesn’t do anything unless he takes it all the way. He never sits on the fence. Thus, Trump will be the first president to ever speak at the March for Life.

This annual rally is among the highest-regarded anti-abortion events, spanning forty-seven years. It started with Roe v. Wade and continues to this day.

Loyalty at it’s Finest

Trump’s support of the pro-life movement hasn’t wavered. His campaign promised a conservative view of reproductive rights, and like his many other promises, Trump follows through.

Last year, VP Mike Pence spoke at the rally, but Trump engaged in a live video message of support.

As the Washington Examiner points out:

Jeanne Mancini, president of the organizing group, celebrated the announcement in a statement, saying Trump had been loyal to the anti-abortion movement.

“From the appointment of pro-life judges and federal workers, to cutting taxpayer funding for abortions here and abroad, to calling for an end to late-term abortions, President Trump and his administration have been consistent champions for life and their support for the March for Life has been unwavering,” she said. “We are grateful for all these pro-life accomplishments and look forward to gaining more victories for life in the future.”

The announcement landed on the anniversary of Roe. The anti-abortion movement, which was initially skeptical about Trump as the Republican nominee, now champions him as a president deeply committed to its cause.

Once again, our President’s ability to follow through won the doubters over.

Sadly, infanticide runs rampant among leftists.

In fact, a few months ago, Austin, Texas made headlines when they announced their official pro-choice policies.

Texas is typically known as an all red state, supporting conservative values. But Austin, Texas has long been the exception to the rule.

The motto “keep Austin weird” pays homage to a city that doesn’t quite fit in. The values are definitely looser. But it always seemed as though purple hair and loud music was the aim of such a motto. Unfortunately, much darker forces are at play in the Lone Star State.

In September, the Austin City Council decided to work outside the law and fund abortions.

Ironically, the same city obsessing with saving trees is perfectly content to kill the children.

As Life News explains:

On Tuesday, the Austin City Council voted to spend $150,000 taxpayer dollars to help Austin women get abortions, KADN News reports. It is believed to be the first city to fund abortions indirectly by giving pro-abortion groups money to provide transportation, child care, lodging and other services to low-income women seeking abortions.

The council members who claim to be “pro-choice” did not talk about providing choices and support to pregnant women in need. They emphasized more abortions – more destruction of unborn babies’ lives.

“Every day the anti-abortion elements in Texas, in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere, wake up and think, ‘How can we restrict access to abortion today.’ That makes it our job, every day, to work to expand access to abortion and health care and other basic services related to abortion,” Austin City Council member Greg Casar told NBC News.

Councilwoman Leslie Pool, who sponsored the pro-abortion measure, even likened the promotion of abortions to moral “values.”

“Here we are at Austin City Hall, a mile away from the state capitol, and yet we couldn’t be farther apart on our values when it comes to expanding access to the full range of reproductive healthcare, including abortion,” Pool said, WOAI News Radio reports. “It’s a shame that as the years go by, more restrictive laws go into place, chipping away at Roe v. Wade and women in our community have less access to abortion care. This proposal will make sure that Austinites who need an abortion can access that care.”

It’s hard to understand how a local government body feels justified in aiding infanticide. But that’s exactly what keeps happening.

The Worst of the Worst

While abortion at any stage is abominable, I think most agree- late term abortions are the worst aberration of all. In Texas, a crime against a pregnant mother is considered a crime against her baby as well. Especially if the mother is the victim of a homicide. But strangely, a mother is allowed to commit such a crime against her unborn baby.

I get it, we can’t always legislate morality. There are times we have to expect people to hold themselves to a moral standard without the encouragement of a legal statute.

Instead, many states are jumping ship on morality. New York, Vermont, Idaho and Massachusetts are among those allowing late-term abortions to take place.

Of course, that’s not the only outlandish plan from the left. One leftist legislator actually suggests castrating men would solve our problems. But I doubt she drummed up much support. Still, Trump continues to work towards a society where abortion is nothing less than abominable. There is no greater crime than the destruction of human life. Thank God our President agrees.
