Joe Biden pretends he built his career on character.
But it turns out, he’s just that creepy guy who cheated his way to the top.
I know you went to school with one of those guys. The one who’d sit in the middle of the smart crowd. He’d borrow an answer from his right. He’d borrow an answer from his left. And at the end of the day he’d skate by on work he never actually did. Turns out, the former VP is one of those guys.
Biden first ran for President in 1988. I was only twelve that year, so I missed out on seeing this first hand. But apparently, Biden was forced to quit after showing up in Iowa with a stolen story to tell.
Right now, we’re just a few days away from the Iowa Caucus, and we’re smack dab in the middle of an impeachment trial. And they have something in common: they’ve both seen Biden’s bad side.
Of course, we’ve covered Biden’s behavior in the Ukraine.
In Biden’s own words, it went something like this:
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch, he got fired…”
Clearly, that sounds a lot like quid pro quo if you ask me. And we’re supposed to be content with Joe Biden hooking his son up with a shady job. This dude that can’t afford his child support raked in nearly a million a month to sit on a board he knew nothing about. But Joe Biden made a passionate plea to explain that none of this was his fault. Because he didn’t know any better. Is anyone buying that?
Obviously, the timing of the Iowa Caucus isn’t ideal for Biden. He needs to lay low. It’s the only way voters won’t connect the dots. Biden is the reason Trump wanted to “look into things” in the Ukraine. The president wanted to end corruption, and his repayment for such a move is this bogus trial. But, we’ll leave that to the Senate to work out while we charge ahead with the 2020 campaign.
Iowa History 101
Biden picked this week to sink a lot of advertising dollars into his campaign. And his latest commercial is all about character. Never has a politician looked so ridiculous. Because we all know Biden’s character.
And it starts with that failed campaign in 1988.
As Fox News reports:
Fox Nation’s new docuseries, “Proving Grounds: Iowa,” Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume recounts the history of the Iowa caucuses, how they came to be the first contest in the primaries, and detailed the presidential campaigns that the state launched and abruptly ended.
“Joe Biden, a senator from Delaware… closed the debate at the Iowa State Fair with an emotional invocation of his coal-mining ancestors,” narrated Hume in the Fox Nation show. “The rival [Michael] Dukakis campaign leaked a tape proving Biden had plagiarized the bit from a speech by a British politician talking about his family.”
“I started thinking as I was coming over here, why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university?” said Biden in Iowa in August 1987.
“Why is it that my wife who is sitting out there in the audience is the first in her family to ever go to college?” he continued, gesturing to his wife Jill. “Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright?”
“My ancestors, who worked in the coal mines in northeast Pennsylvania, who would come up after 12 hours and play football for four hours,” he went on, arguing that he is fighting to help struggling Americans. “It’s because they didn’t have a platform upon which to stand.”
Stolen Goods
Obviously, Biden assumed he’d get away with stealing the speech. The internet was new. And Google didn’t exist. Thus, what were the chances that someone in America knew the speech of British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock?
Fox continues:
In his remarks, Kinnock said, “Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university?”
“Why is Glenys the first woman in her family in a thousand generations to be able to get to university?” he said referencing his own wife.
“Was it because all our predecessors were thick?… Those people who could work eight hours underground and then come up and play football?”
“It was because there was no platform upon which they could stand,” Kinnock concluded.
It ultimately sank Biden’s presidential ambitions that year.
“When more instances of plagiarism followed, Biden withdrew,” narrated Hume.
Repeat Offender
Biden was also accused of plagiarism in law school. Which is pretty ironic once you realize he campaigns on “character.”
This is the same guy that criticized Trump for “not curing cancer” after Biden himself has yet to do so. The same guy that showcases his creepiness with shoulder grabs and bizarre kisses. How does this man know what character is?
Yet, Biden’s commercial showcases an image of the Oval Office while one of those million dollar voices tells us, “It’s said that in here, your character is revealed,” as if we haven’t seen Biden in action already. Then he concludes, “Character matters, maybe more here than anywhere.”
I must agree, character matters. Which is exactly why Biden is about to live 1988 all over again.
