Surprise: Van Jones Credits Trump on Race Issues

CNN’s Jake Tapper interviewed Van Jones recently and Jones shook things up. But before I get to Jones’ comments, I want to explore what Tapper said first.

In the video, Tapper mocks President Trump’s record on race. And then says the Lyndon Johnson was the best president on race issues.

Johnson is the father of The Great Society. In building this new society, Johnson famously proclaimed, “I will have those n*ggers voting Democrat for the next 200 years!”.

That’s the comment made by the man whom Jake Tapper says is the best president for Blacks.

Van Jones doesn’t bite. He says:

“Well, that’s not his style. I think it’s really unfortunate, because Donald Trump, and I get beat up by liberals every time I say this, but I’m going to keep saying it. He has done good stuff for the black community. And you know, Opportunity Zone stuff, black college stuff, I worked with him on criminal justice stuff.

I saw Donald Trump have African American people formerly incarcerated in the White House, embraced them, treated them well. There’s a side to Donald Trump that I think he does not get enough credit for. But the reason he doesn’t is because he also says the most incendiary stuff, he retweets white nationalists. And he violates the number one rule of blackness, which is, I don’t mess with people who mess with people I don’t mess with. In other words, I’m not friends with people who are friends of my enemies.”

I did agree with Jones on Trump’s approach. If Black people are too stupid to recognize results, then why try to win them over.

Trust me, many sensible Blacks understand what Trump has done for Blacks. And they see Trump’s accomplishments in the context of history.

Still, dumb ass Democrats like Tapper believe presidents like LBJ were great for Blacks. LBJ’s policies crippled the Black community. And intentionally so.

Every bleeding-heart program that currently infantilizes the Black community began under Johnson. His intent in The Great Society was to give Blacks, “just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don’t move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there’ll be no way of stopping them, we’ll lose the filibuster and there’ll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It’ll be Reconstruction all over again. [Said to Senator Richard Russell, Jr. (D-GA) regarding the Civil Rights Act of 1957]”

From Snopes:

There’s no question that Lyndon Johnson, despite championing the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and signing it into law, was also a sometime racist and notorious vulgarian who rarely shied away from using the N-word in private. For example, he reportedly referred to the Civil Rights Act of 1957 as the “n*gger bill” in more than one private phone conversation with Senate colleagues. And he reportedly said upon appointing African-American judge Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court, “Son, when I appoint a n*gger to the court, I want everyone to know he’s a n*gger.”

I love how Snopes claims there is no evidence of LBJ’s comment around having “n*ggers” voting Democrat for 200 years.

No evidence?

But they were clear about LBJ’s other comments about “n*ggers”. Clearly, Democrats know the man was a racist.

Yet, iconic Democrat Donna Brazile considers LBJ to be the best president for Blacks. Brazile explains in her own words.

BRAZILE: “I make my last claim, as far as I’m concerned, Lyndon Johnson has been my best president. Why? Because he passed the civil rights act, he passed the voting rights act, because he made us a more perfect union with the fair housing act. He’s been the best president in my judgment for all Americans, not just black Americans.”

And Democrats wonder why they have no credibility?
