White Woman Speaks Against WOKE Culture

The more white people speak up against the nonsense of “wokeism” and cancel culture, the sooner America will return to sanity, aka normal.

I’m overjoyed to hear her speak about behavior that she said pushed her over the line.

Her name is Jodi Shaw. She is a staffer at Smith College in Massachusetts.

Last October, Shaw became a kind of whistleblower when she posted a video on YouTube  describing some of the experiences she was having at the school.

“I really don’t want to be making videos. I don’t want my face on a video camera but I’ve been put in a position where I had to do this,” Shaw said. She added that she was speaking for a lot of staff members who felt the same way but who were afraid to speak up about it. And then Shaw, who is white, read a statement which began, “I ask that Smith College stop reducing my personhood to a racial category.” She was trying to start a conversation about the impact critical race theory, aka wokeism, was having on staffers at the school. Here’s the full video:

It’s like George Orwell once said, “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”

But here, we have a self-proclaimed liberal and she’s exhausted by the so-called “woke.” I only mention her political status as a form of credibility to those on the left. She sits on their side of the aisle and she sees the problem.

Payback

Shaw hoped her video would spark a chain reaction. The kind of reaction that pushes people to do better. But she couldn’t be more wrong. Once her videos started gaining traction, Smith College put Shaw on a leave of absence.

Eventually, they offered her a sweet settlement to go away quietly, but Shaw chose integrity over a cash-out.

According to Shaw:

Through an increasing emphasis on trainings and programs grounded in Critical Social Justice, an incredibly dehumanizing ideology that posits a person’s immutable characteristics as more important than their individual character, Smith College and other institutions like it have created and nurtured a hostile work environment for staff, students and faculty.

I took a public stand against these dehumanizing policies and practices at Smith College in a series of YouTube videos. My hope was that I could not only improve working conditions for staff at Smith, but for working people everywhere who suffer under similar policies in their workplaces.

Smith responded by placing me on a leave and under investigation. During this time I was offered a settlement in exchange for my silence. In the end it was a decision between comfort or freedom. I chose freedom.

Sadly, Shaw failed to achieve her goal, which was to eliminate racial stereotypes from Smith College. What’s worse is that all this occurred on a college campus.

Wackademia

College is supposed to be the place young people go to stretch their ideas. Develop critical thinking and push newer, fresher perspectives on society. Instead, Smith College wants all white people to call themselves racists. To acknowledge white privilege. Regardless of their personal convictions. White people need to view their color as a hindrance from the get-go. It’s a one-size-fits-all fix-it plan. And how did that start?

According to Shaw, it started when a black student accused a white staff member of calling security because of her skin color. Before an investigation even started, the College apologized, and went into “anti-racism” high gear. But their efforts are so misguided, they created more racism. And guess what? An investigation was unable to find racial bias in the staff member’s action.

But colleges, universities, and schools in general no longer seek to infuse wisdom into learners. They’ve all become Wackademia. Students are cash cows. Nothing more. And Smith College is feeding those cows a pile of manure.

But there is a silver lining for Shaw. GoFundMe has more than $200k ear-marked to take her cause to court. Looks like Smith needs a new strategy, ASAP.
